Winter Seabird Transect*. 4-1/2 hours out 18 miles from Yaquina Bay. 8:30 Am to 12:45 PM. Air temp 45-50F. wind east at 15 knots. Swells 4-6 feet; wind waves 1-3 feet from EAST!

More Gray Whales and Pacific White-sided Dolphins observed on return trip.
Birds and marine mammals near Yaquina Head and in bay which were not recorded on the transect were: Harbor Seal, Pacific Loon, Double-crested Cormorant, Surfbird, Black Trunstone, 4 Marbled Murrelet, American Crow, Peregrine Falcon, Rock Dove, Black Scoter, Common Merganser, Red-necked Grebe, and Harlequin Duck.
