This was our final trip of 2008. Predicted sea conditions were for large swells and increasing wind throughout the day, and they got it right. This made getting good looks at the birds a bit of a challenge, and the ride home one of our wettest. However, most did manage to get excellent views of Cassin's Auklets, a stunning Sabine's Gull, Pomarine Jaeger, Buller's Shearwaters, and a host of other species. The experience of seeing albatross and their kin soaring in their element with the winds a-blowing, is an amazing spectacle to behold! And having the Dall's porpoises riding the bow wave is always a magical moment. A list of species observed follows. No one person (including the guides) saw all of the species listed here, but we hope you got to enjoy most of them and that you will join us for a future trip to see some of those that you missed.
