Trip report: Saturday, February 5, 2000 9-hour Perpetua Bank trip Port: Newport, Oregon From Yaquina Bay west 20 miles to the "Chicken Ranch" (where do the fishermen come up with these names?), then south 20 miles to the outside of Perpetua and Heceta Banks (42 nautical miles SW of Yaquina Bay and 33 nautical miles off Yachats, Oregon). Laysan Albatross: 1 at the Chicken Ranch chum stop, 1 en route to the south, 4 at Perpetua Bank chum stop, 1 on the return trip about 15 miles from Yaquina Bay. Northern Fulmar: 1 at fishing boat, 3 at Chicken Ranch chum stop, 1 en route, 45 at Perpetua Bank chum stop, 10 on the return back to port.
